A classic full bodied Bordeaux from an excellent vintage. Plenty of rich cassis, tobacco spice and leathery tannins with enough acidity on the finish to suggest this will continue to develop over the years.
Chateau de Fieuzal sits in Pessac Leognan, Graves on some of the best slopes in the appelation, their origins go right back amongst the first winemakers in the region and in 1959 were awarded the official status of Graves Grands Cru Classe.
Try this with a lamb rump cooked with plenty of good butter and rosemary.
