Get to know: Ca dei Maghi, Camparsi Bianco, Trebbiano
Tasting Note
Another superb wine from Ca Dei Maghi. This has intense aroma with hints of exotic fruits, grapefruit and herbs. There's great concentration of fruit on the palate with flavours of peach, grapefruit and almond carried along by beautiful acidity and minerality that dances around on a lasting finish.
Excellent with asparagus risotto or grilled salmon.
Producer Info
Ca dei Maghi is a small farm in the hills of Valpolicella making very small quantities of the most exquisite wines. Although started in the 1950's it is only since 2011 when Paolo Creazzi took over the reins that this estate has gone from being 'good' to outstanding. Each year he seeks to express classical Valpolicella at its very best while his natural inclination to experiment and try new things is shown in the small range of IGT wines produced.
The grapes for this wine are harvested by hand the last week of September from vines aournd 35 years old. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks then the wine rests there for 6 months before bottling.
