Emilio Moro, Finca Resalso Ribera del Duero 2019
A brighter, fresher wine from this region a little further west of Rioja. This uses the same grape variety: Tempranillo, and is honest, intense and very expressive on the nose with aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant.
Santos Lima, Quinta Vista Tinto 2019
Portuguese red blend of syrah and other local varieties, full of jammy red fruits and sweet spices, velvety and well structured with a soft elegant finish. One to enjoy if you like Crianza Rioja.
Venta La Vega Aldea Tinto
Juicy and smooth with tons of black cherry and a touch of spice. This is a blend of Garnacha (which is often blended with Tempranillo in Rioja) with Syrah.
Quinta dos Roques Tinto 2018
Blackberry, pine, and vanilla notes from 10 months in oak. Generous and with good structure. A great alternative to Reserva Rioja reds.
Paxton "Queen of the Hive" 2020
Full of plush strawberries, poached rhubarb, plums and red cherries with a silky richness from time spent in small oak barrels. This is another one for fans of Reserva Rioja. It uses a little Tempranillo in the blend too.
Cantine Povero, Barbera d'Asti 'Dianae' 2021
A velvety, fruit packed Barbera. Vibrant and fruity with intense notes of raspberry and cherry. A very appealing wine.
