Elegant and savoury with sour red cherries, mediterranean herbs and smokey tobacco notes. this is a serious Brunello with amazing structure and could age for up to 20 years.
From a 1.8 hecatre site the wine is aged in oak for 3 years before another year in bottle prior to release.
If you're drinking this now we'd suggest decanting for at least an hour before hand and pairing with something hearty and rich, beef or game dishes with mushrooms and root veg would be a good place to start.
Albatreti is a 29ha property of which 5ha are under vine and 1.8ha dedicated to Brunello di Montalcino. Located at an altitude of 400-500m asl just outside the town of Montalcino in Southern Tuscany, this estate is cared for by hand by the owner Gaetano Salvioni. The skeletal soils (containing a high proportion of rock fragments), contribute to the linear and mineral character of the wines. The only grape variety planted is Sangiovese.
