I have a vivid recollection of my first tasting of this wine. We'd had a long old trip from Western Australia over to Adelaide then up to the Clare Valley, the group were a little bedraggled & weary (well I was a little bedraggled) and we arrived at Mount Horrocks and were met, with open arms and huge smiles, by Stephanie (winemaker) and her husband Jeffrey. And this wine was delightful, it revitalised me right through to the core. Full of apples & pears and a lively freshness that is well balanced with the creaminess from the oak. Drink now but will keep.

The soursob flower pictured on the label is the key to Joch's organic practices, fighting off weeds, and providing nutrients when it decays. This is a deliciously aromatic wine with tropical fruit and rich apricot from the chardonnay and a crisp acidity and weight from the viognier

This has to be our best value Chardonnay - low yielding, intensly concentrated fruit, enhanced by extended lees contact and oak ageing - superb tropical fruit, figs and toasted nuts

Plantagenet's second label, this creamy Western Australian chard is great value and ticks all the boxes

Lime is the order of the day here. Lime fruit on the nose and lime cordial on the palate. A steely acidity suggests some ageing potential

Crisp, minerally young Riesling from Western Australia. There's enough lime fruit on this to believe it will develop nicely as it ages.

It's very encouraging to see New World producers experimenting with lesser known varieties. King in the Rhone, here it will soon take pride of place in your wine rack. Lime, apricot, soft and creamy with citrus fruit.

A stunning example of the Rhone varietal, this is bursting with almonds and a sublime richness that will fill your mouth with a deliciously creaminess that will go on for quite some time.
