Brand is one of the warmest of the 50 Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace, giving intense fruit flavours to its wines. Tuckheim have extensive land within it, producing wines from all of the permitted varieties (Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Muscat and Pinot Gris) to a consistently high standard. The great thing about these wines is that they age beautifully, and this delicious wine is in its prime.

Grape: 100% Gewurztraminer

Region: Alsace, France

Soil Type: Poor quality, low yielding dry granite

Winemaking: Temperature controlled fermentation, no fining and light filtration maximise the expression of the terroir in the wine and make this wine suitable for vegans and vegetarians!

ABV: 13.5%

Tasting Note This really leaps out of the glass at you - rich and full aromas of spicy honey and wild flowers with a hint of tropical fruits. This wine is all about honeyed spice, but has cracking acidity for balance and underlying minerality which takes it to the next level. I was just disappointed I didn't have another bottle to open!

Cellaring It's hard to imagine this getting any better, but that acidity will keep it honest for a couple of years yet.
