Whacky blend of Shiraz, Mourvedre, Primitivo and Viognier, this is a bit of a beast. Big, bold and fruity, awesome with steak but definitely needs to sit in the sin bin (or decanter to you and me) for an hour after opening.

Made with grapes from the Cape Peninsula, this Cabernet/Merlot blend is rich, full and delicious

Finally, a Pinotage that doesn't taste like a mouthful of rubber! This is all about the fruit, and a subtle hint of barbeque smoke.

The vines used to make this are left to run wild in the vineyard, yet great care is taken in the winery to produce this brilliant value Shiraz.

You've probably met one of this wine's makers behind a table at one of our Wine Fairs as James makes this wine in collaboration with Jean Daneel and it is seriously good. Surprise, surprise, it is made with five grape varieties, and is a beautifully perfumed wine with cassis fruit and pinotage smoke and intensity.

Ondine is grown on Terra Rossa soil (of Coonawarra fame) in cool vineyards on hills facing the Atlantic. Perfect conditions for Cabernet then, and this is fruity but well balanced with oak and leather overtones

A burst of plum jam on the nose precedes a light, fresh and fruity palate. This wine is a great summer red, and could even be drunk cool.

One of the premium Cape shirazes, this is a rich, complex wine - liquorice, black fruit aromas, spice and pepper all combined with elegance and finesse.

Stranveld's flagship wine is made in the new, cool region of Elim. This is a seriously savoury/spicy wine with dark plum and cooked blueberries on the palate and classic, cool-climate shiraz parma ham on the nose. Would be awesome with Venison and black pudding.
