Selvpiana's wines have always been a shop favourite, and no surprise given their superb quality and value for money. Pomino is actually an old name for Chianti Rufina, but also appliers to a smaller DOC zone within that area, mostly owned by Frescobaldi. So a bit of a rarity this and well worth the effort.

Tasting Note This is a textbook example of how well Sangiovese and Cabernet can work together, with the Cab filling out the mid palate and adding rich fruit and dark chocolate notes to the finish. The nose has deep fruit concentration with dark cherries and herbs from the Sangiovese, whilst steely tannins lend the wine structure and ageability. Fantastic with lamb rack.
Cellaring I'd expect this to be at its best in the next 3 years, although it will keep much longer.
If you like this, why not try...trading up and seeing exactly how great Cabernet can be in Tuscany with Poggio al Tesoro's Sondraia
