A cheaper version of Sancerre with heaps of ripe gooseberries and the typical minerality from the Loire. At under a tenner, it's a winner!

Muscadet is often dismissed by the wine buffs as not being worthy of their attention, and it is true that many are sometimes below par. But not so with this fine specimen. It's fresh with juicy acidity and dark grapefruit flavours. Great with oysters, fresh from their shells with a squeeze of lemon juice
