Dean Hewitson sources fruits from the best old vine vineyards in South Australia, not least in the Barossa valley, the source of the grapes which go into this wine. Blending wines from a range of vineyard sites is an old Aussie tradition which is being fast overtaken by Single Vineyard wines, but allows the flexibility to produce top class wines every year. 2005 was a good vintage in Australia with enough rain to water the vines in these un-irrigated plots.

Tasting Note Silky and smooth, this is a luxurious yet interesting wine. A rich cassis and mint leaf nose leads to a medium-full palate, with beautifully balanced tannins and acidity. Pepper spice, raspberry and blackcurrant flavours and vanilla and eucalyptus from the oak are all rounded off with a soft, herbal finish.
Cellaring This is definitely ready to drink, but will keep in the cellar for up to 5 years
