Christmas Crackers

This is a true Australian Icon. The finest Clare Valley fruit handled with care and gently matured in the best oak. Huge, rich and fantastically comples, this wine consistently achieves the highest rankings in critical tastings around the world.

Although found in the less-renowned Moulis region, Chasse Spleen is a class act. Parker rates it as consistently producing wines of 3rd growth quality of the last 30 years. 2003 was a warm vintage so this wine (which is ready to drink) is big and rounded with great tannic structure - superb with rare roast beef!

From the most traditional of Bodegas, this was a favourite last year and is on stonking form in 2008. Supple, complex and elegant with meaty, tertiary characteristics starting to come through.

The Merlot-dominated wines of Saint Emilion mature earlier than their Left Bank cousins making this THE perfect wine for this Christmas. Sweet and spicy, this is succulent, harmonious and at home with beef, lamb or game. Yum!
