2004 is a much under-rated vintage, in the shadow of 2002 and 2005. However, it is a great improvement on 2003, and in the hands of one of the top vignerons in Burgundy, Jacques Seysses, great wines like this have been produced

De-classified Clos de la Marechale, the result of 10 cuvees tasted blind. Like its sibling, it has firm, juicy flavours, vitality and minerality in attendance, together with a plethora of wild red and black fruits.

Medium-full bodied, but with an elegant, feminine style. Complex, long and fine. Ready now, but will keep for some time

A lesser known region of Burgundy, but these guys produce great, flavoursome Pinot Noir, with a good depth of flavour.

Made from Bourgogne Rouge vineyards in the Cote de Nuit, this is a soft and silky Pinot with succulent tannin, red fruit and spice.
