Tasting Note Perfumed and elegant, this is a wine of true class. The nose has bright red cherry fruit overlayed with fresh herbs, cloves and a hint of vanilla. These themes are continued on the medium bodied palate, which expands upon the oak theme, but in a beautifully integrated style balanced by supple tannins. The finish is lifted and entices you back for more
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now, and while this will last for a few more years, I'm not sure it could get a lot better. Think about cellaring the soon to be released 2005 though.
If you like this, why not try...San Felice, Poggio Rosso 2001 is a riserva wine from Chianti Classico from an awesome vintage which may be the perfect exponent of the style. |
